Hand Held Pesticide Application 2 day FETAC Level 5 course
The ALCI, in conjunction with FRS Training, will be running a number of hand held Pesticide Application training courses in 2016. This is an ideal opportunity for ALCI members to get their staff trained in order to comply with the new regulations which came into force at the end of 2015 under the National Action Plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides which make it mandatory for anyone handling pesticides professionally to have undergone appropriate and approved training.

Professional Pesticide User Register - REGISTER NOW
Under the National Action Plan for the Sustainable Use of Pesticides a register of suitably qualified professional users will be established and maintained by the Pesticide Controls Division of the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine. All professional users of pesticides (individual users, not just their company or employer) should register online as follows:
Occupational First Aid
3 day FETAC Level 5 course: Industry best practice is that there should always be a first aider on site and preferably two, in case the first goes down. Cost €210.

This course for 6 participants is run by Coillte and participants will learn to perform the following skills with an emphasis on safety:

Signing, Lighting & Guarding at Roadworks course (CSCS)
SLG training is a legal requirement of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work (Construction Regulations) 2006 Reg 97 if your work involves working on roads, near roads, on pavements, footpaths or any activities that may interfere with vehicular or pedestrian traffic. Candidates who sucessfully complete this course will be qualified to set up, maintain, modify and remove telporary traffic measures around roadworks and manage the safe flow of traffic through roadworks. Candidates will also be able to interpret traffic management plans, in accordance with chapter 8 of the traffic signs manual.
Qualification: FETAC/SOLAS (CSCS)
