Roof Garden Construction
Niche Living, located near Rathmines, presented notable challenges concerning access and storage due to its confined site. The project required meticulous planning, coordination, and communication, as all materials had to be lifted and delivered to the site as needed, given the limited storage space available.
The ground floor’s levels and gradients posed additional difficulties, particularly with the attenuation tank situated near the surface. Ensuring that the paving could handle the necessary traffic demands was a critical aspect of the installation process.
Overall, these challenges were successfully managed through careful and strategic planning.
Services Delivered
Services delivered included both soft and hard landscaping for ground floor and roof gardens, encompassing paving and decking on roof levels 5 and 7. The decking, specifically Leeco Classic Range, was installed on an aluminium substructure, with all elements laid on pedestals. Additionally, sedum roofs and planter boxes were integrated into the design.
The supply and installation of planter boxes were managed by Fabworks. A collaborative approach between the SAP Landscapes team and Fabworks was crucial for smooth scheduling, a goal that was effectively achieved by both parties.
For the ground floor, the services encompassed paving, resin, planters, metal edging, seating, and soft landscaping.
Outcome
The site team Greg, Mietek worked well with our client Rob from Townlink and coordinated to achieve a successfully outcome, even though some tricky tight schedules and bad weather conditions.
The outcome is not only one but two beautiful outdoor spaces on location at Niche Living, Rathmines, that offer a stunning extra for Niche Living to offer their clients in the heart of Dublin City Centre.
