Irish Water confirms exemption
Irish Water introduced a nationwide hosepipe ban for a 6 week period from 9th June to 21st July to combat the effects of drought on the country’s water supply. While the ban prohibits people from using a garden hosepipe for non-essential purposes it does not apply to those who need to use water in the course of their work or business, such as landscape contractors. The ALCI urges its members to be prudent in their use of water during the ban and try and conserve water as much as possible.
