Killiney Garden Landscaping

This Killiney garden landscaping project was designed and constructed as a contemporary outdoor space that prioritises material quality, clarity of layout, and long-term durability. The brief was to create a refined garden terrace that would sit comfortably within its coastal setting while remaining practical, low maintenance, and visually calm.

Kilkenny limestone was selected as the primary paving material for its durability, subtle texture, and natural colour. The limestone forms the main terrace surface, creating a cohesive and timeless foundation for the garden. A circular limestone feature serves as a focal point within the design, softening the geometry of the space and adding visual interest.

Silver granite cobbles were used to define edges and transitions between surfaces, providing contrast while reinforcing the craftsmanship of the build. Raised beds introduce structure, level changes, and opportunities for planting, helping to create distinct zones within the garden while maintaining a simple and uncluttered layout.

A discreet lighting scheme supplied by Hex Lighting was integrated into steps and level changes, improving safety, extending usability into the evening, and highlighting the architectural qualities of the stonework.

The completed garden demonstrates a balanced approach to contemporary landscape design, combining natural materials, precise detailing, and practical construction techniques to create a space that is elegant, functional, and built to stand the test of time.
